Pot Roast Braised BrisketCuisine: Pesach Category: Beef Servings: 8 Ingredients:4-5 lbs brisket1/2 cup flour 2-3 tbs oil 2 large minced garlic 2-3 tbs cider vinegar 2 tbs brown sugar 8 oz tomato sauce 1 tbs worcestershire sauce 1 3/4 cup boiling water 2 large bay leaves 1/2-3/4 tsp thyme 2-3 sliced spanish onions Instructions:Preheat oven to 350. Blend flour with garlic powder, pepper and paprika. Dredge meat in flour. Brown meat in oil to seal in flavor. Spread minced garlic on top of brisket. Pour vinegar over meat. Mix together all other ingredients except onions and pour over meat. Bring to boil. Baste until well blended. Tightly cover roasting pan and place in oven. Braise meat until almost tender. Add water if necessary. Last 1/2 hr add sliced onions on to and around meat. Baste and cover and roast till onions are soft. Let meat stand 1/2 hr before slicing.
